SCCDE is a community-based non-profit society serving Somali and newcomer communities in Edmonton. We connect people with practical information, educational opportunities and local resources so they can make informed decisions and build stronger futures.
The SCCDE was incorporated in Alberta on April 10, 2026. SCCDE was established to create a community-based platform for practical support, education and connection. Based in Edmonton, the organization is building programs that respond to real barriers while recognizing the strengths, knowledge and potential already present in the community.
Our work recognizes that settlement, health, education, employment and social connection are closely linked. By bringing these areas together, SCCDE helps community members navigate systems, strengthen confidence and participate more fully in life in Canada.

SCCDE is based in Edmonton, Alberta. Our current website presents Edmonton and surrounding communities as the primary service area unless expansion is formally approved.
